The window started with defensive reinforcment in the form of Konate on a free from Liverpool, the recent world champion Cucurella from Chelsea and The the dutchmen Dumfries from inter.
Konate gives Real Madrid a stopper CB to be the long term replacement for Rudiger and reinforcment in a position which has been one of thier biggest weakness in the last couple of years partly due to unofortunate succesive injuries to Miliato and Alaba.
Cucurella was another signing which was needed since Ferland Mendy at this point cant be relied on to even be a backup and the young Carreras having a rocky first season at the club, which also entailed disputes with the former manager Alvaro Arbeloa. Dumfries was the last of the defenisve reinformcemtn and meant as a replacmenet to Carvajal and competion to Alexander Arnold. Where Arnold gives you a playmaking fullback with the ability to supply the offense with passes, Dumefries is more of a phsyical fullback with a storng offensive profile, with the ability to be a goal threat himself.
From a holistic perspective the defense now has a blend of healthy competion and diffrent profiles to utilize depening on oppositon and game state.
Going up to the midfield is where the issues start to arise. Rodri was for a long period a player Real Madrid was tracking, and their was certain period where the signing felt inevtiable. Instead, he ended up at their arch rival Barcelona and Bernando ended up as their only midfield singing.
Missing out on Rodri is where the issue of this season will likely arise and not only effect the midfield but also the whole team. Since the retirement of Toni Kross and the regressiona and ultimately departure of Luka Modric, Madrid has had a hard time of controling the midfield. Camavinga and tchoumeni has been inconsistent and not been able to take over the mantle of their predecasors. The team is lacking a deep lyinng playmaker who can provide the frontline with balls breaking the stricture of the opponents. Rodri would have been the ultimate solution of that problem but instead they will have to resort to solve this issues by aggregation. This is where the issues will start to appear, but to understand we have to understand the forwrads dynamics.
Their frontline is a highlighted by Mbappe as the lone striker, Vinicius Jr on the left and bellingham behind as the 10. The RW has instead been a hole which has been occupied by diffrent players such as Rodrygo, Mastuano, Guler, Diaz and Endrick without anyone estbalsih themselves as the starter. The club poured 140 million euro to settle this issue this summer by signing the super talent Yan Diomande from RB Leipizig.
The club also made one last signing with a player not as flashy as the other signing but might be the most signficicant one for them this season in the young spaniard Espi from Levante.
To understand the issues which Real will have to deal with this season it is best to start by picking the most likely xi Mourinho will play this season.

Their midfield two will most likely be Valverde and Bernardo silva with Tchoumeni fighting for a spot. Silva will be the player tasked with initating the the offense. At city he operated higher on the pitch and was one of their creators, this seaosn altough his taks will be to operate deeper and receive from the defence and feed the offense. Something which he hasnt shown to be capable of at the highest level. With him the team the mdifield has to have legs and thier is where Txchoumeni and Valverde will come in and compensate for Silva deterioting physcical presence in the midfield.
